Privacy Policy

In short

This policy covers the fogbreak.eu website and the Fogbreak app. Your recordings, analyses and progress stay on your PC. When Fogbreak needs your match data, it requests it from Riot Games through our relay, which keeps no personal data about you. No account, no ads, no advertising trackers or cross-site tracking, nothing sold.

On the website

The website sets no cookies and shows no ads. Visits are counted by Cloudflare Web Analytics, without cookies or individual tracking: we see totals (pages viewed, countries, browsers), never who you are. Only your language choice may be saved in your browser (local storage), and it never leaves your device. If you leave your email to hear about the launch, or write to us, your address is used to reply to you and to tell you about the launch. If you also tick the news box, it's also used to send you our news: major patches and special events, with an unsubscribe link in every email. We store the address, the site language, the date and your news preference with our host. We never sell your data or share it for advertising; our infrastructure providers only process what is needed to run and secure the service. Everything is deleted on request. As with the relay, Cloudflare keeps technical logs (including IP addresses) for security. The form is protected from bots by Cloudflare Turnstile, without cookies: during the check, it looks at technical signals from your browser (including your IP address), only to block automated sign-ups, never to track you or for advertising.

On your PC

Your game videos, their analyses, your program notebook, your settings and the moments you disagreed with the coach are stored in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Fogbreak, on your computer only. The app frees up space on its own (oldest videos first, within the storage budget you set). To remove everything, uninstall the app and delete that folder.

What goes through our servers

To read your games, the app queries Riot Games through Fogbreak's relay (hosted by Cloudflare), which adds our Riot API key. What goes through it: your Riot ID or its identifier (PUUID), and the IDs of the games requested. The relay keeps nothing about you; the games themselves, which are public data at Riot, are cached for 30 days so that the ten players in one game cost Riot a single call. Each installation has a random number, used only to curb abuse. Cloudflare keeps technical logs (including IP addresses) for security. Static images (champions, items) come from Riot's Data Dragon.

The statistics

Fogbreak's per-rank benchmarks (what players at each rank actually do) come from public ranked games read through Riot's API by our collection server (Hetzner, Germany). Only aggregated figures are published or shipped with the app, never an individual player's data. Identifiers are deleted on request, whether the request comes from you or is relayed by Riot Games.

Legal basis

Reading your games is necessary for the service you ask for (the coaching). Your waitlist email, and separately the news if you tick the box, are based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. The security logs, the form's bot check and the aggregated statistics are based on our legitimate interest in running and improving the service.

How long, and where

Your waitlist email is kept until we've told you about the launch, then deleted. If you ticked the news box, it's kept until you unsubscribe. Either way, it's deleted sooner if you ask. Games cached by the relay expire after 30 days. Whatever is on your PC stays there until you delete it. The website and the relay are hosted by Cloudflare, a US company: these transfers rely on its certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and, failing that, on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. The collection server is in Germany.

Your rights

You can ask for access to, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of the data about you, object to its use and withdraw your consent at any time: write to [email protected]. We answer without undue delay and within one month; for complex or numerous requests, this can be extended by two more months, and we'll tell you so within the first month. You can also complain to the CNIL (cnil.fr), the French data protection authority.

Data controller

Data controller: Simon Savattier, who publishes Fogbreak as an individual while the project is being prepared. Contact: [email protected]. Full publisher details will be published before any paid offer.
