The last hit
Only the killing blow on a minion pays gold.

« Curious thing: a minion finished by your own minions is gold that simply evaporates. Save the last hit for yourself, and nothing else. »
- Only the killing blow pays
Your minions finished that one: nobody gets its gold. A minion only pays the champion who lands its last hit.
- Wait for the right moment
The mark is one of your hits. When its health drops below it, you hit: the melee minion is yours, about 21 gold.
- The casters behind
Same for the casters, about 14 gold each. In between, you don't touch anything: your minions do the work.
- The classic mistake
You hit every minion: your hits land at the wrong time, your minions take the kills, and the wave pushes for nothing.
When to do it
- All game long: every minion you finish is gold for you; every one your minions finish is gold for nobody.
- Early in lane: a melee minion is worth about 21 gold, a caster about 14. Every single one counts.
- When the lane is quiet: nobody's trading, so every minion should end up yours.
How to keep it
- Watch the health bars, not your champion: the one about to drop is your next target.
- Hit when its health is below one of your hits, counting the time your attack takes to land.
- Between last hits, leave the wave alone: your minions do the work.
The tip for your rank
One reflex: only hit a minion when its health bar is almost empty. Nothing else.
When two minions drop low at once, finish one with an attack and the other with a spell. Never let the cannon minion go: it's worth far more than the others.
Every CS you take while your opponent misses his is a lead nobody sees. Farm and trade at once: hit him in the gaps, when he walks up for his own.
