The tempo

Being ready to act before the enemy.

From Diamond
Professor Zéphyrinthe Academy's instructor

« Winning tempo means reaching the starting line first. Push, back with your team, walk out full, and be set while they're still catching waves. »

  1. Push your waves first

All three waves crash into their towers. They have to catch them: they're stuck in lane.

  2. Back together

While they catch the waves, all five of you back at the same time, and come out with full health and new items.

  3. First on the objective

You walk to the dragon together. They're still clearing waves, far from it.

  4. You act, they answer

The dragon falls before they arrive. Three of them come late, find five of you, and turn back.

  5. The classic mistake

Everyone backs on their own and walks in alone: each arrival is 1 v 5, one after the other. They take the dragon.

When to do it

  • Before an objective: push, back, and come back in time to be the first ones there.
  • After a won fight: they're dead or low, it's the moment to push and take something.
  • Your waves are crashing into their towers: they have to catch them, you're free to move.

How to keep it

  • Push your wave before you move: it keeps them busy while you back or rotate.
  • Back at the same time as your team: you all come out together, full health, items bought.
  • Walk to the next objective straight away: be there and set up before they arrive.
The classic mistakeArriving at an objective one by one, each after a separate back. Every arrival is a fight alone against five.
Good to knowA pushed wave doesn't vanish: it bounces back toward you later. After the objective, catch the waves reaching your towers.

The tip for your rank

Iron to Silver

Before you back, push your wave into their tower. You lose fewer minions, and your opponent has to stay and catch it.

Gold to Emerald

Sync your backs: when an objective is coming, back with your team, not on your own, and walk out together.

Diamond and above

Tempo decides who chooses: the team that's set first picks the fight, the vision and the objective; the other one can only answer.
